021 Ready For Painting

The demolition is almost complete. See that big white "table" there in the background? It's actually a built-in box covering a hole in the floor. At one time there was a conveyor belt running from the first to the second floor. The hole is approximately 4' x 8'. There's no way I will be able to replace the subflooring as well as the maple floorboards, so we're thinking we'll just lift the kitchen off the floor on a platform and then simply cover the hole under the platform with plywood. We need to make sure the material covering the floor passes the fire marshall inspection, as well as all the other miscellaneous holes in the floor: old pipe holes, electrical and plumbing holes and other circular shaped holes which were drilled for who knows what purpose. But once the table is moved and the hole covered, the demolition is pretty much complete. Time to paint!
